The Carrier Bag 2023
Inspired by the provisional, yet functional nature of animal architecture, I made this series of monoprints while reading Ursula K. Le Guin’s Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction. In her essay, Le Guin suggests the first tool used by humans was not a weapon for striking a foe, but a bag, a container, a construction designed to carry food and sustenance.
